<div>I forward Commander Sawyer's e-mail with great enthusiasm &
hope each camp will receive it in the same manner.</div>

<div>The background for this new Division Award is short & simple.
In the first quarterly meeting of the current DEC, it was noted that
the Virginia Division had no way of providing acknowledgment to those
camps which did so much to further our cause in a variety of
ways. There are many outstanding projects, activities & other
contributions by camps all across the Division which ought to bring
some form of recognition to those camps for their dedication and hard
work.</div>

<div>The DEC re-established the Division Awards Committee and tasked it
with devising a method to provide formal, meaningful and well earned
recognition to those camps warranting such recognition. The Committee,
with input from others, devised the manner of recognition in a form
that is visible and lasting. The requirements are appropriate for any
size camp. The attachment with Commander Sawyer's e-mail gives the
particulars.</div>

<div>There is no competition for this award as it is designed to honor
any and all camps meeting the requirements as provided. It is hoped
that every camp within the division will strive to achieve this award.
The program starts the very first day after a Division Convention and
ends at the conclusion of the next convention. The first Awards will be
issued at the 2010 Virginia Convention.</div>
