[VAcourier] Annual Confederate Memorial Ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery

*June 8, 2008 *- The Confederate Memorial Committee of the District of 
Columbia will be hosting the Annual Confederate Memorial Ceremony at 
3:00 p.m. at the Confederate Monument, Jackson Circle, Arlington 
National Cemetery. This ceremony commemorates the 200th birth 
anniversary of Jefferson Davis and the 94th anniversary of the 
dedication of the Confederate Monument presented to the Nation by the 
United Daughters of the Confederacy on June 4, 1914.

The guest speaker will be Thomas Moore, celebrated author of /The Hunt 
for Confederate Gold./  Presentation of Memorial Floral Tributes from 
descendants of Confederate Veterans and heritage groups. Memorial floral 
tributes will be placed at the Tomb of the Unknowns from the Confederate 
Memorial Committee.
