Dear Sir:
 
Of course we, The Sons of Confederate Veterans, are not racist, 
subversive or unpatriotic. Unfortunately, the politically correct 
grannies of the MOS & B, UDC, and sad to say, even some among the SCV, 
think we are.  They think this because to them any defense of our 
Southern Heritage puts us in this category.  We will continue to follow 
the charge given us by General Stephen D. Lee.  We will do so by 
conducting ourselves in the gentlemanly manner of our ancestors.   
Nothing we do places us in the category of radicals and fanatics.   We 
will, however, not cower in some obsessed notion of not offending anyone.
