The Senate is playing a game with the "slavery apology" trying to change 
a word or two to make it sound less like a setup for reparations.  
However, it still has not been changed to reflect the truth of slavery.  
You may contact the General Assembly members below and tell them its 
time for the full truth or that bill SB332 should fail.

A General Assembly subcommittee voted today to change the slavery 
apology from an act of atonement to an act of contrition.

Sen. Henry L. Marsh III, D-Richmond, a sponsor, told a Senate rules 
committee subcommittee that the meaning of the resolution had not changed.

He said the amended resolution would satisfy those opponents who felt 
the original resolution would lead to reparations for the wrongdoing of 
slavery.

The resolution, introduced as an act of reconciliation as Virginia 
observes the 400th anniversary of Jamestown, has stirred controversy.
