Division Adjutant Christopher Evans recently submitted his resignation
by e-mail citing that he has accepted a position with an accounting firm
that involves extensive international travel with long hours and he will
not be accessible by e-mail or phone during those time periods. In
addition, he will be starting law school part-time at George Mason
University and will be unable to continue in the capacity of
Adjutant-Treasurer of the Virginia Division.
Division Commander Earnest proposed several appointments and a vote was
taken which resulted in the following appointments:
- Archivist Mike Rose will assume the duties of Adjutant-Treasurer with
the assistance of Inspector Joe Wright when the need arises.
- Division Heritage Defense Coordinator Darryl Starnes will assume the
duties of Archivist along with his current duties. E-mails addressed to
archivist at scvva.org will now be forwarded to Darryl Starnes.
- Quartermaster Keith Morris will now be accepting the applications and
payments regarding the Robert E. Lee license plate initiative.
Applications and payments for Robert E. Lee license plates can be mailed
to Quartermaster Keith Morris at 130 Kings Point Drive, Suffolk, VA
23434. If you have any questions, he can be reached at
quartermaster at scvva.org or by phone at 757-539-3483.
The Virginia Division Web site has been updated and any e-mails
addressed to adjutant at scvva.org will automatically be forwarded to Mike
Rose since Christopher is currently in the process of handing off
materials and files as he completes them. From this point on, all future
correspondence should likewise be sent to Mike Rose, 360 Dillon Drive,
Virginia Beach, VA 23452 or by e-mail at adjutant at scvva.org.
Commander Frank Earnest, along with the Virginia Division Executive
Council, want to thank Christopher for his time and efforts spent
carrying out the responsibilities of the Division Adjutant. We all wish
him the very best of success and happiness as he enters this new phase
of his life.
John Sawyer, 1st Lt. Cmdr
for
Frank Earnest, Virginia Division Commander
