Compatriots:

There are several nonsensical bills pending before the Senate and House
of the Commonwealth of Virginia. Your Executive Council and I have
decided to stay clear of two of these bills. This is because they both
deal with slavery, and since this is in no way what our ancestors fought
for, it is not our concern. One bill cannot be ignored. Senate Bill 809
seeks to have Virginia Commemorate the 200th Birthday of Abraham
Lincoln. This bill makes no sense at all. To the best of my knowledge,
Lincoln never set foot in Virginia prior to 1861. The only thing Lincoln
ever did for Virginia was to invade us, occupy us, and kill thousands of
us. Virginia did not, at first, vote to secede. It was Lincoln’s demand
for Virginia Troops to invade South Carolina that drove Virginia out of
the Union. There are many today who feel that the current President of
the United States should not have acted without the consent of Congress
prior to invading Iraq. Certainly anyone should understand why
Virginians of 1861 did not agree with the U.S. President (Lincoln)
acting without the consent of Congress and invading South Carolina.

It was through Lincoln and his unconstitutional war that a large part of
our State became the illegal state of West Virginia. Before that name
was chosen, calling this new State “Lincoln” was even considered. Also
due to Lincoln and his war against the Constitution, Virginia became the
occupied territory of Military District #1. No good ever came to
Virginia because of Abraham Lincoln.

Illinois calls itself the “Land of Lincoln.” Let them commemorate his
birthday if they wish. We Virginians certainly have nothing to celebrate.

This is where we need your help. Write, email, or phone your Senators
and Representatives. Tell them you want them to vote NO to Senate Bill
809. Let them know that we can and will, vote NO on Election Day if they
don’t start acting like Virginians. Don’t just read this and agree. Get
involved and contact your Representatives. We must stop this insult to
Virginia and our ancestors.

Sincerely,

B. Frank Earnest
Virginia Division Commander and Southern Patriot
