Lexington city councilwoman Mimi Elrod says if the MOC move offends 1
person she is opposed to it. Wonder if she won't run for office again
because I am sure her position offends at least 1 person.

Museum of Confederacy looks for new home
http://www.wdbj7.com/Global/story.asp?S=6027187

The Museum of Confederacy in Richmond is trying to find a new home. The
current location has become landlocked. Tourism leaders have suggested
museum officials look into moving to Lexington.

Some say the old historic courthouse and other surrounding buildings
would make a great fit for the museum. In addition, proponents say
Lexington is already enriched with Civil War history. Many businesses
in downtown Lexington say the move would boost the area's economy.

However, some say the move could create tensions in the community. No
decision has been made at this point. There have only been
discussions. The museum would like to have a new home by 2011, the
150th anniversary of the Civil War.
