The Virginia Division of the sons of Confederate Veterans were at the 
courthouse square in uptown Martinsville Saturday for a memorial service 
as part of their state convention.

Using muskets just as they did over 145 years ago the members in 
attendance performed a military salute.

During the ceremony, the confederate flag flew over the front of the 
courthouse.
